The Mission
Our Vision
Inspired by the word Afya—health and prosperity—our vision is to create a trusted space for clear, inclusive, and reliable reproductive health education. Here, young people gain the knowledge they need, and parents, guardians, and communities find the tools to guide and support them—so together, we nurture healthier, more confident adults.

Meet Our Founder
Hi, I’m Dr. Gyl (pronounced Jill) a fellowship-trained pediatric and adolescent gynecologist with a master’s degree in public health. In my work, I’ve had the privilege of caring for many teens and families, but I’ve also seen how hard it can be when access to evidence based information isn’t available.
Too often, young people and families come to me after months or even years of stress—missing school, struggling with pain, or feeling like something is “wrong” with them— all because they didn’t have clear, reliable education about their health. On the other side, there’s also so much information out there that it becomes overwhelming and confusing, adding even more stress.
Seeing families carry that worry made me realize something important: access to clear, trustworthy health education should never be limited to the clinical office.
EverAfya was created out of that need to provide reliable information about reproductive health topics for teens and preteens. Our goal is to empower young people and families with the knowledge they need—reducing stress, improving health behaviors, and laying the foundation for healthier reproductive outcomes in adulthood. Because when we equip our youngest with knowledge, we set the stage for confident, healthier adults.
My hope is that this space feels like a trusted resource—where families, teens, and communities can learn, find clarity, and feel empowered.
Because no one should have to navigate their health in silence. And every young person deserves to step into adulthood with confidence, knowledge, and support.
